A Baby in the Tummy

My son told me that his girlfriend had a baby in her tummy. I told him Lauren did not and he preceded with "she showed me her tummy"...LOL!! I will have to say at least they got the order right...they became boyfriend/girlfriend when they were two (yes 2), recently Lauren has told her mommy (Page) that her and Micah are gonna get married and Micah has told me the same thing. A couple of weeks ago Page told me that Lauren wanted Micah to spend the night (no we didn't let this happen). And now Lauren has a baby. I asked Page to give my son a running chance before she told Aaron (Lauren's Daddy).

Nursing Buddies!!

Rachel, Me and Sabrina on picture day at school which by the way was the same day as Micah's class picture day. I never thought Micah and I would have class pictures on the same day and the funny part was that his cost more!! These are my nursing buds!!

Living with an Asthmatic Child...

Micah woke up last night having trouble breathing, which in our case happens a lot and we treat it with his albuterol. If you saw my child trying to breath you would probably rush him to the ER, but for me it is almost normal to see him use those extra muscles to breath. So as I was holding him last night two hours after he had his treatment and I realized he was working even harder than usual. I counted his respirations and they were 55 breaths/min...WHAT??...the norm for a child his age is between 20-30 breaths/min. So I called the doctor's office and a nurse called me back and told me to do another breathing treatment and take him to the ER. She also asked me was he turning blue. I wanted so bad to say lady if he was turing blue we wouldn't be having this conversation!! So off to the ER for a visit (2am). They gave him a steroid to open up his lungs and checked his O2 stat, which was 93. They almost admitted him, but didn't and let him go home with Aaron and I since his O2 went up to 95. The next morning he is a different child from last night. He is running, playing wanting to eat. The meds don't even phase him most of the time. He can tell you almost what everyone will do for him (because he has had most of them before during other attacks) and he will even tell me how much he thinks he is supposed to get. He will say "Mom, the doctor said only 2puffs a day." He usually takes only two different meds a day, but right now we have to take 7 different meds untill he is cleared up. They even thought he might have pneumonia from the x-rays so they started him on antibiotics. I actually grabbed all the meds and went to my friend's house who is a pharmacist and asked her explain why he might need so many drugs and what time I should give them, cause there are so many. I pray that one day he will grow out of this cause his daddy was the same way and he was through with it by the age of four.

Easter at the Prophett Lake

We had Easter at the Prophett lake. Each family brings a side dish and some eggs to hide. We had over 240 eggs to hide this year. We played ball, ate as a family, threw sticks and rocks in the lake, and SEARCHED FOR EGGS!! One of the questions Micah asked me this morning was how many pictures did I have to take of him and I said about 50 and he said "how abou 3," I just laughed!! The first picture is of Aaron and I tickling Micah, so we could get one more picutre out of him. The next picture is of my sister and her family and Micah just had to squeeze himself into that picture (but nooooo i couldn't get him to do a family picture with us!!). As you can see my son found the prize egg, but the funny part was when he found it he thought it was trash and tried to throw it away. And the last picture is of Micah's cousins Jake and Anna Grace. HAPPY EASTER!!

THE STUDENT NURSE'S PRAYER
Lord: I know we go through this every day but please give me the knowledge as to why I actually wanted to go to nursing school. Lord, give me the strength to make it through those boring three hour lectures without falling asleep. Lord, please give me the patience to make it through twelve hour clinicals with instructors that can't just give you the right answer and on the same note, give the nurses the ability to remember what it was like to be a student and give us just a little more respect. Lord, give me the endurance to read all the assigned readings and be able to remember it when I am taking a test with four right answers. Lord, give my family and friends the ability to realize I really am on the edge of insanity. Finally, Lord, give me the vision to see that one day I will be a real nurse and I will never have to wear this ugly uniform again.

Passed my Exit Exam for Nursing School

I PASSED!! I PASSED MY EXIT EXAM!! With hardly any sleep I passed (micah sick all night, Aaron out of town)...you know you are tired when you put an answer down to assess the soft spot for a 3 year old to check for increase intracranial pressure!! I hit ok and then was like Crap and I FINALLY woke up enough to finish the test....I wish I could go to sleep but now it is off to Hogansville to start and FINISH our group presentation that is due this Tuesday the same day as my Neuro test that I have yet to read my notes on!! But I passesd and VERY BLESSED AND THANKFUL!! Here is a picture of what I have been looking at for the past 1 1/2 years....NOW I can burn it with my uniform!! All I have left is two test for the other class and when I graduate, the Nusing Boards....I am almost there!!

Fishing trip gone crazy...

After church on Sunday we decided to go out to the lake and fish. I brought my books to study and Aaron and Micah brought the fishing poles. We had a great time except for the bite Micah got on his arm (he said it was an ant??)....he broke out in a rash but his breathing was good. We took him home and gave him some Benadryl. On Monday he started to wheeze. So after almost 4 months of no albuteral treatments (record breaking!!), we had to give him those treatments again. Now he is walking around telling everyone they need to pray for him. He really hates those treatments and so do I!! We did get some great pics from the day though and we had a great time being together...

The Thomas Card that won't Shutup!!

Micah and I were in the car on our way to see his great-grandmother and I handed him a card his MiMi sent him. It was a Thomas the Train card!! Micah opened it up and the card said "We hope you have a really splendid Valentine's Day." I looked at him through the rearview mirror and all I saw was Micah's face of total shock. Mouth wide open and jaw dropped!!! Of course the scrapper that I am was trying to figure out how to take a picture with my camera phone and drive at the same time!!! Micah looked up at me through the mirror and I told him to to close the card and reopen it. He did just that and when the card talked again....I got the picture with my camera phone (don't be too scared I was at a red light)...then out of Micah's mouth "HOW DID IT DO THAT" so, then he preceded to keep opening it and closing it so he could figure out how it worked (trapped in a car with the thomas card that won't shutup!!)...after it felt like the 50th time the card had been open, he FINALLY figured where it was coming from in the card and looked at it and yelled from the back seat "Here it is, I found it" and no not just once but a few times....he was so excited!! Now I am no longer counting how many times the card has been opened and reopened and I am trying to figure out how to get rid of the voice saying "We hope you have a really spendid valentine's day" over and over at the sametime hoping my child figures out a way to tear it up...he never did and it is still here working just fine!!

Oh and by the way I bought my son a Thomas Valentine Card but decided not to give it to him yet...who can compete with a talking thomas card!!

Valentine's Day with MY DAD!!

For Valentine's Day my husband could not take me out cause he had lodge that night and my sister's husband was out of town...so my DAD decided he was gonna take us to dinner. We ate at Vennucie's (spelling??) and had a wonderful time...we laughed so hard and we were so loud!! One picture is of us just smiling and the other is out natural pose...being silly!!

Cubbie Pictures

These pictures were taken on Sunday. Micah's cubbie group got to sing in BIG church and Micah was so excited about it and wanted everyone to be there to watch him...well he became shy and during the first sevice he would not even go up there and then during the second service I was the only to come back and I decided to hide so I could get some pictures of him. He got up there but he decided that sitting was a better idea. He finally did spot me in the crowd and while everyone else was singing my child started saying, "there is my mommy and she is taking my picture" and then gave me the biggest smile. When we got home we took some more pics of us....

Athena Rachel Lee Greer

Our newest edition is my niece Athena. She was born on Dec. 27th, 2007. Micah just loves her and wants to go visit Aunt Amanda and Uncle Rory just so he can see her!! This picture was taken when she was 11 days old. She woke up and started crying and Micah grabbed the pacifier and put and her mouth and said, "I got this mommy, she just needs her BIG cousin to take care of her!!" Yes, I almost started to cry!! And one of his other sayings is that he is gonna protect her from the big boys!! He has been telling me that he wants a baby at his house and I tell him when mommy is done with school.

3 Lambs+1 Prophett=FUN FUN FUN!!!

What a BEAUTIFUL DAY!!! On Fridays (not every Friday) I get to watch the the 3 Lamb boys!! They are 2, 3 and 4 years old. They are also Micah's bestfriends from church...he actually calls them his brothers. Well today we packed up some toys and walked to the college so we could play in the grass and run up hills. We took lots of pictures and was even able to get a group picture...on our walk back we heard a woodpecker and found it and took a picture of it and of course I took a picture of the boys looking at it. What a special day with my boys!!

Micah and Lauren

Here is Micah with his girlfriend Lauren (since they were two years old) and if you ask him what her name is he will reply, "Lauren Joseph Prophett" They are so cute together and he talks about her all the time. If I ask him what he did in school today he would would say, "I played with Lauren." Young love....
